Is an IEP or 504 better for your child? Both have their benefits and drawbacks. Interestingly, IEP’s actually have a 504 plan “embedded” within them. When your child’s IEP is finished (due to age or receiving a diploma), they are still protected under section 504 in college or the workforce. It’s always a good idea to work with your IEP team to ensure your child learns their rights under both laws!
