â Summary
â¨In summary, over my past four posts weâve talked about ways you can set up your child and their IEP team for success this school year.
1ď¸âŁ Establish contact with your childâs teacher(s), case manager, and related service providers.
2ď¸âŁ Understand your childâs daily and weekly schedule.
3ď¸âŁ Ensure the accuracy of the dates listed on your childâs IEP.
4ď¸âŁ Understand your childâs present levels of performance.
If you have difficulty with any of these steps, or if you discover an issue, remember that you can always request an IEP meeting any time. The school district is required to hold an IEP meeting at a mutually agreed upon time within 30 days of any written parent request (this can be an email, class dojo message, or handwritten note). You also have the right to audio record the meeting as long as you give at least 24 hoursâ written notice.
Best of luck to you this school year! Youâve got this đŞđťđŞđžđŞđżđŞ
