It’s back to school time! There is so much preparation that goes in to a new school year. Teachers read their students’ IEP’s, prepare their classrooms, and develop their lesson plans. Parents and students buy supplies and new clothes, figure out their classroom or schedule assignment, and start setting that alarm a little earlier every morning. For some students, the transition to a new grade, classroom, and/or teacher isn’t always an easy one. Give your child and their teachers some time to adjust for the first couple of weeks, but don’t be afraid to speak up and make sure the people who work with your child have read and understand your child’s IEP!
